Gravenhurst Winter Carnival Fundraiser

The Northwood Brass, a brass quartet comprised of members of the Muskoka Concert Band, performed at a Gravenhurst Winter Carnival fundraising concert in February. Funds raised were shared among the Muskoka Alzheimers Association, the Gravenhurst Junior Gryphons Youth Band and the Muskoka Concert Band's Youth Band. Neil Barlow, pictured above in "Northwood Plaid" accepts a cheque on behalf of the Youth Band from concert organizer, Deb Tilson.
Proudly Supporting Huntsville's New Band Shell!
The Muskoka Concert Band is proud to be in a position to financially support the construction of Huntsville's new band shell. The project is a joint effort by the Rotary Club of Huntsville, the Huntsville Festival of the Arts, the Downtown Huntsville BIA and the band, and will be funded through contributions from all four groups as well as community fundraising. The project got a boost from Rotary's successful application to the Aviva Community Fund contest which had local residents voting the project to the number two spot in its category and resulted in a $30,000 award to offset construction costs.
A buy-a-brick fundraising campaign is planned for the new year to help the project reach its goal. The public is encouraged to support this project by purchasing a brick in one of three different sizes. These bricks will form the back wall of the structure. Site preparation began in December 2015 with construction to be completed by May 2016.
